1. SOMALIA

Somalia is steeped in thousands of years of history. The ancient Egyptians spoke of it as "God's Land" (the Land of Punt), and the ancient Romans called it Cape Aromatica. The country is named for the legendary father of the Somali people, Samaal (or Samale). 

Somalia is on the outer edge of the Somali Peninsula and wraps around the Horn of Africa. It's the fabled land of fragrant myrrh and frankincense, of ‘Black Berber’. This country, with Africa's longest coastline, is ideal for those travelers who like to sun, sea and beach.

Most Somali dishes were served with meat and banana on the side. So you can fill your stomach freely with delicious Somali specialties.

6. GOOD WEATHER

Somalia has a tropical but not torrid climate, and they recognize four seasons, two rainy (gu and day) and two dry (jiilaal and hagaa). In the low areas, the mean temperature ranges from about 24° C to 31° C (75° to 88° F ). The plateau region is cooler, the southwest warmer. 

Somalia is at the equator next to the Indian Ocean, with a great, warm and sunny weather ☼.

8. DIVING

Somalia, a diving secret of the Indian Ocean. Bajuni and Koyama Islands are the most popular places to dive in Somalia.

Diving the Bajuni islands is a great. The reefs are unbleached and untouched; with depths from 10m to 35m. Fish shoals are huge and the water really warm: 27 - 32°C. Some dugongs are often seen in the Bajuni Islands and there are reports of a large group migration.

A trip to Somalia is as much an adventure itself as the diving.
